So here we sit, two years later, still projects sitting around waiting. Some waiting because other projects need to be finished first, others because I can't find the time. But one in particular is because I can't make up my mind. HELP! Remember all the old wood trim in our first look pictures? Well, we took that all off. Why? A minority of it was damaged. Though the whole house was trimmed out, every single room had different sizes of base board and door framing. And every room had some broken in half and some didn't meet up. I felt shameful doing it, but when Mark put up the new trim that shame instantly turned into happiness. Mark has done some beautiful trim work and I'm looking forward to seeing it all finished. So while he's holding up his end of the deal, here I hold off on mine. I can't decide on what colour to paint these beauts. I was able to narrow down my colours to two. Welded Iron or Sonic Silver. I can see the benefit of them both. I have completely decided against white trim seeing as the majority of the walls in our house are going to be white. I need a contrast. The lighter grey (Sonic Silver) will give the small contrast that I wanted, not standing out and it won't blend in with the walls. I feel really comfortable with this colour as it's more soothing and it gives the house a more airy feel. The darker grey (Welded Iron) gives a major contrast. It's bold and strong, and has it's own uniqueness that makes me a little happy on the inside when I see it. I've never been this bold on my trim colours and this one surely leans way over my bold line. Which is why I hesitate. Not that I'm sure I wouldn't like it once it's painted on, but how long would I like it for is more the question. I really don't want to paint all our trim one colour for a few years, to have to change it because I wasn't satisfied with it. I'll post pictures of my inspirations and what the colours look like in our house with our lighting. Your comments are appreciated!
